Western Nevada College hosted a powerful CREST event

The latest news from VR

On August 5, 2025, Western Nevada College hosted a powerful CREST event featuring motivational speaker Lamarr Womble—and it was nothing short of electrifying. From a high-five icebreaker that had everyone energized to heartfelt stories about setting boundaries and embracing vulnerability, his message resonated deeply with students and staff alike.

Womble didn’t shy away from tough truths—like the startling fact that 3 out of 4 students experience overwhelming anxiety and 79% of Gen Zers feel lonely—but he paired that with practical advice: cultivate your mindset, set boundaries (even on social media), and start your life’s manifesto to define your legacy.

Huge shoutout to Western Nevada CollegeDisability and Support Services, and VR Nevada for bringing this transformative experience to our community. Western Nevada College
