Irene Franco
Rehab Counselor III
DETR Employee
of the Quarter
In recognition of exemplary service to DETR, Irene Franco, is hereby named the DETR Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter 2026:
Irene was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and relocated to Reno in 1982. She has been a proud Reno and Carson City resident ever since. She joined Vocational Rehabilitation in 2005, starting as an Administrative Assistant. Over the years, she has worked her way up to Rehabilitation Technician and now Rehabilitation Counselor III. She loves the work we do and the impact we make in the lives of Nevadans.
Outside of work, She enjoys hands‑on creative projects, especially anything crafty or related to home remodeling—she loves finding fun ways to make spaces better. She has three beautiful children and two grandchildren. Her youngest son is currently in Minnesota playing soccer for Concordia College, which has been an exciting journey for their family.
She would like to thank all her colleagues in Vocational Rehab and is proud to be a part of the work we do at DETR.
Congratulations to Irene for winning the DETR Outstanding Employee of the First Quarter 2026!
