Nevadans with disabilities achieving their dreams

Dion smiles in front of the mantel

Dion Williams has overcome significant challenges to become a successful entrepreneur through the Business Enterprises of Nevada (BEN) program. Despite losing his vision gradually with age, his determination and resilience led him over this obstacle and to the BEN program, where he received comprehensive training in business management and customer service.

With the skills he gained, Dion took over the Flamingo DMV Café and transformed it into a thriving business. He introduced innovative menu options, streamlined operations, and created a welcoming environment that significantly boosted customer satisfaction and loyalty. His proactive approach and ability to adapt to customer needs have set new standards for success at the café, far exceeding those of any prior operations.

Dion’s success extends beyond his café. He is actively involved in mentoring other blind entrepreneurs, sharing his knowledge and experiences to help them succeed. His contributions to both State and National Business Enterprise Programs highlight his leadership and commitment to empowering others in the blind community. Dion’s story is a testament to the power of resilience and the impact of the BEN program in helping individuals achieve their entrepreneurial dreams.
